travel: france

Normandy and Brittany, nestled along France’s northwestern coast, reveal a wilder, more windswept beauty — steeped in history and marked by striking contrasts in landscape and light. In Normandy, chalky cliffs rise starkly from the sea, especially at Étretat, where natural arches carved by the waves resemble cathedral doorways. The atmosphere is moody and reflective, with a sky that shifts constantly — a painter’s dream. Villages like Honfleur charm with half-timbered houses and cobbled streets, while Mont-Saint-Michel rises ethereally from the tidal flats, its Gothic spires appearing to float on the horizon.

Brittany feels even more untamed, edged by craggy coastlines and scattered with ancient standing stones and windswept heaths. The region’s granite cottages, dramatic sea views, and medieval towns like Dinan or Locronan speak to a Celtic soul. Lighthouses dot the cliffs, guarding the land where ocean and land constantly wrestle. There's a salty stillness here, a sense of being far from the noise of the world. Both regions offer not just beautiful scenery but a haunting, enduring spirit — shaped by tides, wind, and the weight of time.

We hope that you enjoy the images from our trip!
